• When given the rare opportunity to capture images of an enigmatic famous painter, a photographer is forced to confront the limits she will go for her art.

  • Akila, a prominent photographer has an exhibit deadline quickly approaching as she struggles with her progress.

Interrupted at dinner she gets a call from her agent, Abel, who tells her that the anonymous, famous painter VIO has requested that she reveal his identity through her photography. Akila is wary of VIO’s reputation, but her agent convinces her to accept this career-changing opportunity.

At VIO’s mansion, Akila is greeted by his caretaker, Vaasefa, who shows her where to set up her camera. VIO appears in the doorway without a word and after an awkward exchange, Akila begins taking photos. VIO pulls out a loaded gun and then points it in her direction. Unphased, she instructs him to aim at himself as he reacts with a laugh and complies. VIO storms away moments later, inviting Akila to dinner as he leaves.

Akila and VIO awkwardly discuss why he picked her and his past controversial artistic works. Vaasefa interrupts by entering the room as VIO murmurs quietly to her in a different language. Visibly distressed, she then leaves. Akila asks for career advice from VIO as he makes her laugh into comfort with his response. They begin warm up to each other.

The conversation flows more freely as VIO and Akila converse about life and the odds of existence as they have a photoshoot on his lavish property. VIO then asks Akila how far she would go to be remembered.

Akila drives VIO to his eccentric art studio, where he talks about them making history together. He then steps onto a blank canvas and slits his throat open with a palette knife. As he collapses, he paints the canvas with his blood until he loses his life. Conflicted, Akila picks up her camera and struggles to capture the incident in front of her.

Months pass as a distressed Akila stands on the edge of her penthouse balcony. As Akila leaves, she is attacked by the paparazzi and fans with her photos of VIO as she escapes in her car.

Akila then visits a prestigious art museum, where, for the first time, she views VIO's blood painting in a gallery. With grief, she studies the detail of each shape and texture.

Akila attends her photography exhibit, where her prints of VIO are displayed. Abel approaches her and whispers about the show’s success, becoming angry when she doesn’t respond with enthusiasm. Akila then walks outside, where Vaasefa emerges, sharing that Akila has been given a gift.

Two art handlers remove VIO’s suicide painting from the gallery wall as they take it away in a wooden crate.

A street artist paints a large mural on the side of a white brick building. Once complete, the image is revealed to be a photograph of VIO, taken by Akila.
